Zach is Cam's new intervenor. They are getting to know each other. They are just finishing an order of soap for Deafblind Services. I am sure you will be hearing from Zach soon.
Cameron is a bright young man who has faced many challenges in his life. He was born with severe brain damage and was diagnosed as deafblind at age 4. His Mom knew he had vision problems but was sure he could hear. It was a real shock and a real awakening to find out he was deaf and blind. This was where intervention began in Cameron's life. We started to teach him signing and he learned his first sign in a week. This sign was "all done." We all loved this and felt it was his version of a 2 year old saying "no". Cameron now had a voice and he was really using it. Over the years with the help of many dedicated people Cameron has learned to comunicate using a combination of touch cues, object cues and his version of sign language. He is now an adult and embarking on a new venture in his life. This blog will be all about Cameron's new adventures.
